- EMERGENCY OVERVIEW: DANGER Vapor Harmful. Contents Under Pressure. As d efined by OSHA’s Hazard Communication Standard, this product is haza rdous. Appearance & Odor: Colorless liquid, irritating odor at high concentra tions EYE CONTACT: May cause slight temporary eye irritation. Vapors m ay irritate the eyes at concentrations of 100 ppm. SKIN CONTACT: Short single exposure may cause skin irritation. Pro longed exposure may cause severe skin irritation, even a burn. A single prolonged exposure is not likely to result in the material being absorbed through skin in harmful amounts. INHALATION: Dizziness may occur at concentrations of 200 ppm. P rogressively higher levels may also cause nasal irritation, nausea, inc oordination, and drunkenness. Very high levels or prolonged exposure could lead to unconsciousness and death. INGESTION: Single dose oral toxicity is considered to be extreme ly low. Swallowing large amounts may cause injury if aspirated into th e lungs. This may be rapidly absorbed through the lungs and result in in jury to other body systems. CHRONIC EFFECTS: Repeated contact with skin may cause drying or flak ing of skin. Excessive or long term exposure to vapors may increas e sensitivity to epinephrine and increase myocardial irritability. Target Organ Effects: Central nervous system. Possibly liver and kidney. Precautionary Statements
- EYE CONTACT: Immediately flush with plenty of water for 15 minutes. Call a physici an if irritation persists. SKIN CONTACT: Remove contaminated clothing and wash affected area with soap and water. Call a physician if irritation persists. Was h contaminated clothing prior to re-use. INHALATION: Remove person to fresh air. Keep person calm. If no t breathing, give artificial respiration. If breathing is difficult g ive oxygen. Call a physician. INGESTION: Do NOT induce vomiting. Call a physician immediately.
